Since I am not currently in school, nor have been for many months now…

… I am getting a little itch, and the only thing that will scratch it is some books, that and “more cowbell.”

Some people have been kind enough to recommend both some books and more generally, some authors. And for this, I hope I have been mightily grateful. These books have been a blast to read and talk about at the water cooler. So, maybe you would like to do the same?

Please recommend either an excellent book or an excellent author (or I guess you could first recommend a topic, like Sabermetrics, then recommend a book or two). An excellent comment would include a ISBN.

No Fiction, sorry, I get enough fiction through other outlets… but, this might change?

No History, again sorry. I tried history for a good week. I pushed through some stuff on the Mayflower and Benjamin Franklin. It was brutal. I never even made to the third book, one on John Quincy Adams.

No Books longer than 400 pages. Look, if you can say it and state it in less than 400 pages, you are tackling too much content in one book. Diversify and make even more money.

FINE PRINT: I reserve the right to take hold of an audio book when available. Speaking of, does anyone know of any freeware that makes my computer read to me? I have hundreds of .pdfs that I would love a computer to read to me. FOLLOW-UP:: I think I found one.  I just need to install it and test it.
